Ecommerce Pune Online store development
Fastest route to a reliable store

Shopify development company in Pune

If you want a clean, reliable store live in weeks and you do not want to think about hosting, security or updates, Shopify is usually the right answer. We build it, wire in Indian payments and couriers, and hand it to your staff.

If it is the wrong answer for your business, we will say so on the first call and point you at WooCommerce or a custom build instead.

We are not a Shopify Partner agency and will not pretend otherwise. What we have is ten years of building and supporting stores.

What a Shopify build covers
  • Theme development and customisation
Built on mobile first, then desktop
  • Product, variant and collection structure
Set up so filters and search actually work
  • Indian payments, COD and shipping
    Razorpay, UPI, Shiprocket, courier pickups
  • Apps chosen carefully, not stacked
Every app is a monthly cost and a speed risk
  • Admin training and handover
Your staff run it, not us
Live in weeks
A focused store with a clean product list, not a six-month project
Nothing to maintain
Hosting, security and platform updates are Shopify's problem, not yours
Indian stack wired in
UPI, COD, GST invoices, courier pickups and WhatsApp updates
Honest platform advice
We build on WooCommerce and custom too, so we have no reason to push this one
01    Who Shopify suits

Four situations where this is the obvious choice

And one where it is not. Read the last card before you decide.

Your first real store

You sell from a shop, Instagram or WhatsApp and you want to be selling online this quarter, not next year.

A D2C brand that needs to look good

Design and speed decide your conversion rate. You want bundles, offers, subscriptions and clean analytics.

Nobody in-house is technical

Your team can add a product and print a label. They should never be responsible for a server or a plugin update.

Escaping a store nobody will touch

An abandoned build, a slow site, a developer who vanished. Migrating to Shopify ends that class of problem.

When we will talk you out of Shopify

Dealer-specific pricing, MOQ and slab rules, quotation workflows, credit limits or a two-way ERP sync. Those bend Shopify out of shape, and awkward gets expensive.

02    Scope

Three depths of Shopify build

Most of the price difference between one Shopify quote and another comes down to which of these you are actually buying. Pick one to see what is in it.

Depth 1

Theme setup

A well-chosen paid theme, configured properly and filled with your real content. The fastest honest route to selling online.

Right when you need to be live this month and the brand can evolve later.

  • Theme selected with you and licensed in your name
  • Brand colours, fonts and logo applied
  • Home, collection, product, cart and policy pages set up
  • Products and variants imported and spot-checked
  • Payment gateway and courier connected
  • GST invoicing configured
  • Analytics and Search Console verified
  • Admin walkthrough for your staff
Depth 2

Customised theme

A theme taken apart where it matters. Sections rebuilt, templates added, and the parts of the funnel that cost you money reworked.

Right for most serious stores, and where the majority of our Shopify work sits.

  • Everything in theme setup
  • Custom sections built for your merchandising
  • Collection filters and search tuned to your catalogue
  • Product page rebuilt around your buying decision
  • Cart and upsell behaviour customised
  • Bundles, offers or subscription logic where needed
  • Speed work: images, scripts and app audit
  • Structured data and metadata templates
Depth 3

Designed from scratch

A storefront designed for your brand and then built as a theme. No template underneath, no compromise to fit someone else’s layout.

Right when the brand is the product, which usually means D2C rather than general retail.

  • Full UX and UI design, mobile first, reviewed before build
  • Custom theme built from the design, not adapted
  • Bespoke collection and product templates
  • Editorial and campaign page system your team can reuse
  • Motion and interaction detail where it earns its place
  • Performance budget agreed and measured
  • Accessibility and contrast checked
  • Design documentation handed over
03    Indian stack

What we connect on an Indian Shopify store

A default Shopify store is built for a different market. These are the pieces that make it work here, and every one of them has an edge case we have already hit.

Payments and COD

UPI, cards, netbanking, wallets and cash on delivery, with COD limited by pin code or order value where you need it.

Razorpay · Cashfree · PayU · Shopify Payments

Shipping and pickups

Serviceability by pin code, weight-based rates, label printing, pickup requests and a tracking page customers can read.

Shiprocket · Delhivery · Bluedart

GST invoices

Compliant invoices with HSN codes and place-of-supply handling, in a format your accountant will accept.

Invoice apps · Tally · Zoho Books

WhatsApp and retention

Order confirmations, dispatch updates and abandoned-cart nudges where your customers already read messages.

WhatsApp Business API · email flows

Stock across channels

One source of truth when you also sell in a shop, on Amazon or on Flipkart, so you stop overselling.

Amazon · Flipkart · POS · ERP

Tracking that reports revenue

Ecommerce events configured properly, so you can see which channel actually produced the order.

GA4 · Clarity · Search Console
04    Strengths and limits

What Shopify is genuinely good at, and where it starts to hurt

You will not get this from an agency that only builds on one platform. We build on three, so here is the version without the sales gloss.

Where it wins

You never touch infrastructure

Hosting, certificates, security patches and platform upgrades are handled. No AMC needed just to keep the lights on.

Checkout is already good

The part of the funnel that costs you the most money is the part you do not have to build or debug.

Staff can actually run it

Adding products, running an offer and fulfilling an order do not require a developer on standby.

Predictable to launch

Fewer unknowns than a custom build, so the timeline and the quote hold up better.

Where it hurts

The monthly bill grows quietly

Platform fee plus five apps adds up. We keep the app list short and tell you the recurring cost before you commit.

B2B rules need workarounds

Customer-specific price lists, MOQ, slab pricing and credit terms are possible but awkward, and awkward gets expensive.

You do not own the platform

Your data and your content are yours, the platform is rented. If that matters to you, WooCommerce is the better fit.

Deep ERP sync is real work

Two-way stock and invoice sync with an ERP is engineering, not an app install, whatever the app listing says.

Still weighing it up? The platform selector on the homepage gives you a starting recommendation in four questions. Open the selector

05    Process

Six stages from first call to handover

Scope is agreed in writing before development starts. Changes are quoted separately rather than quietly stretching the timeline.

  1. Discovery

How orders reach you now, what you sell, how you dispatch, and whether Shopify is genuinely the right platform.

  2. Scope and app stack

A written feature list, the theme approach, the apps we recommend and their monthly cost, plus what is out of scope.

  3. Design

Home, collection, product, cart and checkout designed on mobile first and reviewed before any code is written.

  4. Build and catalogue

Theme work on a development store, products imported and checked by hand, payments and shipping connected.

  5. Test orders

Real orders, refunds, failed payments, COD, tax and pin-code edge cases. Speed and mobile checks before launch.

  6. Launch and handover

Domain, redirects, analytics and Search Console, then a walkthrough so your staff can run the store without us.

06    Handover

What you actually receive at handover

Ask any agency for this list before you sign. If they cannot produce it, you are renting your own store from them.

The Shopify account, in your name

Store, billing and admin registered to your business. You add and remove users, including us.

Theme source and customisations

Every change we made, documented, and in your repository if you want version control.

Product data as imported

The spreadsheet we worked from, in the structure the store expects, so you can re-import or migrate later.

Payments and courier, tested

Gateway connected, COD rules set, labels and pickups verified with real test orders before launch.

Analytics and Search Console

Verified in your account with ecommerce events firing, so revenue reporting works from day one.

A walkthrough for your staff

How to add a product, run an offer and fulfil an order, with notes they can refer back to.

Maintenance is optional on Shopify because the platform handles updates and security. If you want us on hand we will quote it, but we will not imply you need it.

07    Cost and timeline

What moves the number on a Shopify quote

We do not publish a package price, because two stores with the same product count can differ by a factor of three. A fixed written quote follows a scoping call, itemised by module so you can defer parts of it.

One thing we always separate out: the recurring cost. Shopify subscription, apps, gateway charges and any maintenance plan are listed on their own so nothing surprises you in month two.

Which of the three build depths

The single biggest factor. A configured theme and a storefront designed from scratch are different projects.

Catalogue size and how clean it is

Fifty tidy SKUs is an afternoon. Two thousand with variants and images that need renaming is a workstream.

Integrations beyond the basics

A gateway and a courier are routine. Tally, an ERP or a marketplace sync is quoted as its own line.

Whether your content exists

Photography, descriptions and policies are a real cost line, and usually the thing that decides the launch date.

08    FAQ

Shopify questions we get on the first call

Ask anything else on WhatsApp. You will get a straight answer from the person who would build it.

How long does a Shopify store take?

A focused store with a clean product list is usually a few weeks. What actually decides it is your side: product photography, descriptions, policies and approvals. We tell you exactly what we need and when, so the timeline is not a mystery.

What will Shopify cost me every month?

The platform subscription, plus any apps, plus your payment gateway percentage. Shopify changes its plan pricing from time to time, so we check the current rates with you during scoping and list every recurring item in the quote rather than quoting a number here that goes stale.

Can we accept cash on delivery?

Yes, and it is worth setting up properly. We can restrict COD by pin code, by order value or by product, add a partial-prepaid option to cut returns, and make sure the courier integration reconciles COD collections against your orders.

Do we buy a theme or get one designed?

Most first stores are better off on a good theme, customised properly. A theme licence is a one-off cost and it buys you a tested, fast starting point. Design from scratch makes sense when the brand is the product, which is usually D2C rather than general retail. The three build depths above set out what changes between them.

Can you move our existing store to Shopify?

Yes, from WooCommerce, Magento, OpenCart or a custom build. Products, customers and order history move across, and we map every old URL to its new one so your search rankings survive. A redirect map is not optional, and skipping it is the most common way stores lose traffic after a migration.

Will we be locked in to you afterwards?

No. The Shopify account, domain, gateway and analytics are in your business name, and you get admin access plus a walkthrough at handover. Maintenance is optional. If you move to another developer later, nothing is held back.

Is the store ready for SEO?

The foundations are included: collection structure informed by search demand, editable titles and descriptions, product structured data, image optimisation, sitemaps and a fast mobile experience. Ranking then needs content and links over time, which is a separate ongoing service. We will not promise positions or dates. See how the SEO service works .
